There are many different ways to show leadership. One important way is service. Serving your community is very important because it helps make your community a better place to live for not only you, but everyone else. Serving your community also makes you feel better as a person. There are different ways to serve your community. Whether it is a fund raiser, picking up trash, repairs to public parks, or painting churches. Anything that helps out the community and is non-profit can be considered a service.
I learned the true meaning of service when I volunteered to paint the inside of St. Michael's Hall in Holbrook for my Eagle Project. I led a group of 16 volunteers and over the course of 245.5 hours we achieved our goal and painted the whole hall. It took a lot of work, but I am grateful to everyone who helped and I think it looks great! After my project was over I had a great sense of pride in my work and a great feeling about this service I did to the Holbrook community.
